Our Goal

The goal of this project is to speak knowledge to power, and to combat the erasure of Trans lives, narratives, and most importantly trans contributions to society. This erasure has created a history that is absent of the great work of TWOC people, their families, community relationships, and movements that were created by these amazing souls. This has led to a community that has not been exposed to vital self-affirming possibility models, and thusly, have not been able to learn, and apply the lessons and teachings of their elders and how they survived…to their own lives.

The TWOC History Project engages people in discovering, documenting, collecting, preserving the history and culturally-specific healing strategies of Trans Women of Color communities through an immersive, educational program designed to give them the oral traditions and healing techniques using: oral storytelling, subject matter experts, video, and photographic history to better reflect and represent the legacy and culture of such amazing women throughout history.

We engage people in discovering, documenting, collecting, preserving the history & culturally-specific healing strategies of Trans Women of Color Communities.
